WE WILL PERMANENTLY CLOSE 10/14

Dear Carbondale & Beloved Painted Pig Community,

This will be The Painted Pig’s last week of operation. The standards we set for this business rested on paying people a living wage and providing unwavering support for our local farmers and food systems. We needed to make this business sustainable, and the levers to pull in order to do so compromised our values.

I am incredibly proud of what we accomplished over the past year. The Painted Pig served as a community hub where humans worked hard. We strived to be a conduit for connection and conversation, and collective effervescence was abundant. We are thankful for the friendships and connections made within our walls. We embraced the grind and satisfaction of working hard for something and could not have done it without your support.

The Painted Pig is associated with several businesses that will carry on our mission. Aquila Cellars and Crane Mesa Farm embody the principles we promoted at The Painted Pig. As we reflect on this year and the lessons we've learned, we are better equipped to carry on our work. A bit of humility is best paired with a dose of optimism. We are far from finished.

Now, Carbondale, we must embrace change. With our departure, space is created for new ideas to take hold. 689 Main St. is a special property that needs help finding its footing.

I look forward to seeing everyone this week, and hope to see you for our last day of operation and final pancake breakfast on Sunday, October 13th.

Cheers,

Kade G.
